An Early Look At Anakin Skywalker

No Lie, Sky-Guy is Pretty Fly

As you have undoubtedly heard, Anakin Skywalker will finally be receiving a proper Blue Hero incarnation in Covert Missions. I was hyped up immediately for this card, but my local guys are skeptical. Is he good, or is he destined to be banished to the binder? It’s hard to know for sure without seeing his support cards, but I believe he will be playable. I’ll be making that argument by discussing his color, health, die, subtype, ability, cost, and available partners. Feel free to disagree, but this is my analysis (and defense) of Sky-Guy in Standard!

12 Days of Destiny – Day 2

We are deep in the holiday season, and I have to admit that I get a bit…enthusiastic…about Christmas. To that end, I thought it might be fun to take a shot at a “12 Days of Destiny” series of articles that highlight twelve wonderful (or at least impactful) things that Destiny has brought to us. Finally, I know that the Twelve Days of Christmas actually start on Christmas Day, but I thought it would be more fun to lead up to Christmas instead.

Things to Come

I Love You….I Know

It is strange to be in the midst of Prime Season and have such “apathy” for our game. We, as players, are frustrated about the lack of anything exciting on the horizon. How do we get over the doldrums of this?

When I look at this, from the Star Wars point of view, it feels as if we have just been frozen in carbonite. You remember the scene – that gripping “I Love You… I Know.” What we have here is the same situation.

It Is Well

There are a lot of things that can make you have a bad experience. Some of the things are in our control, some are not. What we have to do is figure out what we can control and control it. In Star Wars: Destiny, we are at the mercy of fate when it comes to our card draws and our dice rolls. There is few things as frustrating as having 3 rerolls and only needing 1 of the three dice being rolled to come up with damage for the win, yet missing on the chance.

Content Creators Corner: NooBrainer

For those who know who this article is going to be about, there is no better way to start than this. “Heeellllloooo everyone this is me, Gameslayer989, aka NooBrainer”

This is an interview that I have wanted to do for a while. When I first got into Star Wars: Destiny, like I have said before, I went down the rabbit trail on YouTube. My goal was to find someone that spoke to me. I didn’t want to only be entertained, I wanted knowledge and analysis. I also didn’t know what a Patreon was so that never even crossed my mind. While doing my search, I came across this young person.

Content Creators Corner: Destiny Down Under

Welcome back to the series. During NOVA, I was contacted by our esteemed leader, Chief Chirpa himself, Jason Brame. He told me of a group that was doing a series like this one. When someone tells you something like that, it gets you kind of excited. The reason is, either I had the same idea that others did; or someone saw what was being done and thought it was a good idea.

The Cost is Great

Unbalanced Characters

Unbalanced characters have been around since the beginning. Who can forget, in Awakenings, trying to figure out how to make Luke Skywalker (AW35) work? The desire to play old man Obi-Wan (SR37) was another piece of the problem. Then we added points to both Poe (AW29) and Sabine (EW40), which killed their use in both competitive and casual gaming.

Content Creators Corner: Golden Dice Podcast

Unexpected Meeting

So this story starts with an unexpected meeting. I was recently sent to Philadelphia for work. While there, Star Wars: Destiny had their latest set drop: Spark of Hope. I had brought a booster box with me to open in my spare time. While browsing on the line I found a box tournament in New Jersey, not that far away from where I was staying. I called over and reserved a spot and waited until that Saturday. When I arrived I found that this was a home base to Golden Dice Podcast.
