An Early Look At Anakin Skywalker

No Lie, Sky-Guy is Pretty Fly

As you have undoubtedly heard, Anakin Skywalker will finally be receiving a proper Blue Hero incarnation in Covert Missions. I was hyped up immediately for this card, but my local guys are skeptical. Is he good, or is he destined to be banished to the binder? It’s hard to know for sure without seeing his support cards, but I believe he will be playable. I’ll be making that argument by discussing his color, health, die, subtype, ability, cost, and available partners. Feel free to disagree, but this is my analysis (and defense) of Sky-Guy in Standard!

Things to Come

I Love You….I Know

It is strange to be in the midst of Prime Season and have such “apathy” for our game. We, as players, are frustrated about the lack of anything exciting on the horizon. How do we get over the doldrums of this?

When I look at this, from the Star Wars point of view, it feels as if we have just been frozen in carbonite. You remember the scene – that gripping “I Love You… I Know.” What we have here is the same situation.

Things Aren’t Always As Bad As They Seem

Hey Socrates, It’s Me Ya Boy

The Athenian aristocrat Pheadrus once said that “things are not always what they seem.”

I’m taking this way out of context (sorry Plato), but I often paraphrase this quote and say it a little differently: “things aren’t always as bad as they seem.” We have a tendency to view the world through cloudy lenses sometimes. When we do, every setback seems insurmountable, every challenge feels Sisyphean, and every piece of bad news feels like it’s going to radically alter our lives. Recently, the Star Wars: Destiny community received some unexpected bad news: Covert Missions has been delayed. I want to offer you some perspective on that today, and tell you that I don’t believe things are as bad they seem right now on social media. The ship isn’t sinking, we don’t need to launch the lifeboats, and nobody has to make any SOS calls just yet.
