Bounties and Orders – Spark of Hope Spoiler Discussion

The End of the Jedi

Star Wars: Destiny and Fantasy Flight Games have dropped a lot on our plates over the last few days. The latest is the article today that contains some great spoilers. At first glance it is awesome to see an iconic piece of lore, like Order 66 (SH15), but could that spell the end of the Jedi? A once fearsome group now relegated to the sidelines because of new cards.

Of course the optimist says that there will be something to combat this. Let’s look closer at what this card does-you can play eAsajj Ventress (CV1) with the new and improved Jango Fett (SH40) as a single die. Then play this plot and have a 34-card deck with 4 pieces of red removal. The strength of this card is the ability to get extra cards against mill and a color that you may not be playing.

Bounty Hunters 4Life

Bounty Hunters are for real. When I first saw the new downgrades I’ll admit that I thought they would be niche. Who is going to waste a slot to put in downgrades when bounty hunters had been so over priced. The idea of playing a “Father and Son” Bounty Hunter deck isn’t just a dream anymore. You can play both at elite levels making them an unstoppable pair.

This is also without talking about the new IG-88 that was half-shown in the Covenant Team post earlier this week. So let me be the first to tap my chest and say “My Bad” to the Bounty Hunters out there.

Another great new Bounty in this article is Chancellor’s Edict (SH6). This is going to look great against some of those Jedis that constantly produce shields. For 1 cost you could do 3 damage-through shield removal-and acquire 2 shield to finish the bounty. A 5 point health swing, that is huge. Dust off your Mandalorian Armor (EW145) and get ready for fun.

Red has Mitigation?

One thing that many players have talked about is Red never having the “good” mitigation. I can see that, but not anymore. This article shows that Red is going to get some help in that area. Not only will they get help with mitigation, but if you can put Order 66 in that Red deck you can hit hard with a 1 cost Chain Lightning (SH125). This does 3 damage for 1 cost. Even Watto (CV38) thinks that is a deal.

FFG has shown a lot. They have allowed us our favorite thing, spoilers. They have given us a Spark of Hope that we are just seeing the top of a very large iceberg. I ask you The Chance Cube Universe, what is more exciting than dreaming about pairings you want to put together? Nothing-except when these get put on line to test them out. Happy Spoiler Season!!
