Welcome back ladies and girls to another round of.. HOW CRAZY CAN “THE KEN” BE!! After the Star Wars Legacies preview articles dropped, I, like everyone else, saw Yoda and was wondering how broken he might actually be. So far, I’ve seen quite a bit of the decks out there with Poe (TP25) and Yoda, but I wasn’t a fan of them, so I wanted to just make someone new more brutal. I chose Zeb as my original go-to guy as I love that his dice can go either melee or ranged and help with things such as the Light Bow to let you roll out with it and then resolve them to your hearts content. Also with Zeb’s ability, he makes it so that his dice can’t be Deflected (AW145). With the heroes chosen, the next step is to find out what to include. Obviously with Yoda you want to include stuff that has specials so you can chain them and make it work out for you. At least that’s what the idea was with this deck at this point. Having played it today, I feel more like Yoda doesn’t need to particularly special-chain for this deck.

With Legacies primarily dropping in large quantities all over Europe, it’s only appropriate that we begin addressing the meta as something new. With hopeful eyes we look to that which we know for guidance; and come up empty.
Through three tournaments and a lot of playtesting, the one thing that the new Legacies set has revealed to me, is that we will have to rethink the meta.
A long time ago, somewhere on Earth, George Lucas himself sat crafting what would be known as the Prequel Trilogy, with such hits as The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith (don’t even get me started on sand). But not only did we get new movies, but new characters including the dearly beloved (please note the sarcasm), Jar Jar Binks (LG47). The Gungan, the myth, the legend, was recently announced in the upcoming Star Wars: Destiny –Legacies set.
Of all of the Masters of the Force found in our favorite galaxy from a long time ago, far, far away, my favorite will always be Obi-Wan Kenobi. And, despite my overall underwhelmed perception of Episodes I-III, my favorite version of Obi-Wan is Prequel Obi-Wan. Suffice to say, I’m quite excited to see the newly announced Legacies set bringing Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master (LG32) to the table!
If you’ve been living under a rock the last few hours then you haven’t seen the new Legacies set previews. It seems we are FINALLY getting a BOBA FETT!!! No need to hunt down those random booster packs, we’re getting him in a starter format for us!
Now we can finally pair him and his “dad,” Jango, together!
Introducing Star Wars: Destiny – Legacies
In September, Fantasy Flight Games launched Star Wars: Destiny – Empire at War. Today, Fantasy Flight Games announced a new set of boosters and starter sets coined Legacies. While many players are still getting into the groove of Empire at War, we now have a new series of characters, upgrades, supports, and events to wrap our heads around in anticipation of the unknown release date of Star Wars: Destiny – Legacies.
