Hello Vader… My Old Friend

After a lot of trading, I was finally able to get a solid Vader – TTB (AG1) deck built. I wasn’t all that successful with it so it went on the back burner.

With the release of Spark of Hope and the Niman forms, as well as the associated events Draw Closer (SH116) and Pushing Slash (SH118), I decided to revamp my deck a bit.

Seasonal Kits Are Awesome

Open Play Nights (FFG is on the Right Track)

Recently, my friendly local game store received their seasonal kits from Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) to support Open Play events. I was really impressed with the promos when our local tournament organizer showed me some of them. FFG made good choices about which cards to print! He asked me if I would be willing to run Open Play (OP) events for our store, and I agreed. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I scheduled our first event; was anyone going to come out for an event that wasn’t an official “tournament?” Was there any interest in playing games without the competitive atmosphere that comes with a formal structure?

How do I start?

​On Facebook I have been seeing a lot of people putting up: “Just starting to play, where do I start?” This is both exciting because of the influx of new blood; but also a difficult question. The Star Wars: Destiny we play now is different than the what we started playing 7 sets and 1 cycle ago. When we first started playing this game, it was  characters, supports, and upgrades. You had those types of decks like Han Solo (AW46)/Rey (AW38) that were shield crazy and difficult to push through. Then the evolution to the Bala (AW19) trinity that had everyone frustrated. Then the invention of FN-2199 (SR2) that wanted everyone to flip a table or two.
