Welcome back ladies and girls to another round of.. HOW CRAZY CAN “THE KEN” BE!! After the Star Wars Legacies preview articles dropped, I, like everyone else, saw Yoda and was wondering how broken he might actually be. So far, I’ve seen quite a bit of the decks out there with Poe (TP25) and Yoda, but I wasn’t a fan of them, so I wanted to just make someone new more brutal. I chose Zeb as my original go-to guy as I love that his dice can go either melee or ranged and help with things such as the Light Bow to let you roll out with it and then resolve them to your hearts content. Also with Zeb’s ability, he makes it so that his dice can’t be Deflected (AW145). With the heroes chosen, the next step is to find out what to include. Obviously with Yoda you want to include stuff that has specials so you can chain them and make it work out for you. At least that’s what the idea was with this deck at this point. Having played it today, I feel more like Yoda doesn’t need to particularly special-chain for this deck.

I’m finally throwing in the towel for this deck. Stick a fork in it, it’s done!
Above is the latest build I feel comfortable with giving out and think you’ll enjoy it as well.
So last time I left you all with a deck list of http://swdestinydb.com/decklist/view/15776/ongoingkylogrevious-1.0 and had made some really good choices from the previous build. One of the biggest issues I was having was some of the mitigation cards weren’t really cutting it, so I needed to cut back on a few and go with cheaper options. I’ve been finding this deck is REALLY tight on the resources. I never really like giving my opponent free damage with Enrage (AW81) but with as greedy as this deck is with the funds, you’ll need it.
So going into my Sunday game I’m feeling quite happy with the deck so far. My first opponent is none other than Mrs. Kim Breeze!! Oh how exciting! Problem – the night before she requested I give her a decklist… sooo she’s running a Mace Windu (EW34) deck and I know exactly what’s in there.
Sooooo.. yeah… Errata happened.. and well, my original ongoing series got, well… murdered! Maybe not murdered per se, but the deck needed to be changed since eCad/ePhasma was no longer a legal deck. I took another vote… this time even branching outside of just the The Chance Cube’s hangout (Shameless plug to become a Patron!). The voters were VERY clear on who they wanted me to work on and it was eKylo (TP1)/Grievous (AW3).
So last night I decided to run a version of my own making, taking with it what I have used before in other decks that are similar.
First, a shout out to my homie FN-2199… you got hit with not one but TWO hammers of justice because you were just so good.
With Fantasy Flight updating the Rules References, it will bring about a new meta for all to see. While the official date of acceptance is not until November 6th, I’m already just planning events and decks in my head based off the new rules.
Let’s break it down to what is now “fixed” and what this blogger thinks still needs to be addressed.
After posting a poll in our hangout, the winning deck for me to run and do a blog about was none other than Cad Bane/Phasma.
After Sabine (EW40) and Poe (TP25) were first in the polls for a couple of days, I thought I’d need to design one around them, but I was wrong when people then voted for this pairing.
So the plan is to run this deck into the ground until I either am sick of running it, or you the people are tired of hearing me talk about it!
Again.. after each new set it seems like we are always starting out with a fresh new set of cards getting the whole Meta figured out. So far I think there are going to be some FUN decks as well as some competitive ones out there from the days of old that might be able to come back to the top. Let’s go over some of the fun decks that I’ve found so far.
If you’ve been living under a rock the last few hours then you haven’t seen the new Legacies set previews. It seems we are FINALLY getting a BOBA FETT!!! No need to hunt down those random booster packs, we’re getting him in a starter format for us!
Now we can finally pair him and his “dad,” Jango, together!
[Editor’s Note: This article was written before the release of Empire at War, and will not include any cards from the set.]
So as most of you know, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Han/Rey, and I’m finally of the opinion that they just won’t work for me. So I have taken that deck apart and am now working on a Darth Vader (AW10) and Royal Guard (SR12).
Then of course, we just got this fancy new two-player starter set with new cards.
So in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, as you read this article, some new errata for Fast Hands (SR150) and Ammo Belt(SR141) have come out. Fast Hands is now Yellow Character only, and Ammo Belt can only be used on weapons. These updates to the cards comes at a time where ePoe/eMaz is at it’s prime, and while it’s not the fix that some were looking for, it is going to slow down that deck a little bit and make it a little easier to handle.
