Product Review: Warped Mind Games Tokens – a review brought to you by a warped mind!

Welcome everyone to another round of tokens for use in Star Wars: Destiny!

I had the pleasure a few weeks back going to Gem City Con here in Dayton, Ohio, and hosted the Star Wars: Destiny Win-a-Box event. When I arrived I was greeted with a local company, Warped Mind Games, that was selling tokens for various games. I was given a set of their Destiny tokens and, after using them, I have to say they have become my new favorite to use.

Appearance (4.5/5.0)

While you normally get 1-damage and 3-damage tokens from the sets, they have opted to give you 1-, 3-, 5-, and 10-damage tokens. You’ll get 8 x 1, 5 x 3, 2 x 5, and 1 x 10 damage markers. For the shields and resources, you’ll get 10 of each. In their Etsy store, you’ll be able to get a better feeling of what options they have for sale. You can customize your set if you feel you might need more, but I think the normal set of 1 will do just fine for most decks out there.

Utility (3.5/5.0)

Personally I like to keep my tokens off to the side of my cards and not on the cards themselves. Sadly, with these tokens, that actually hurts them as on certain play mats you will have a hard time seeing the numbers on the damage tokens. So they have opted to go with sharp points on the damage tokens to make it easier for you and your opponent to know at a glance how much damage someone has.

Durability (4.0/5.0)

Being acrylic, they are a little more fragile than say, molded plastics, but they are also much cleaner cut as well. The “points” of the damage tokens would be the only thing I could see breaking off if you REALLY tried to, but with normal everyday use you won’t have any issues.

Price Point (5.0/5.0)

If you buy a single set of each, it will set you back $20, plus a little extra for shipping. I think this is an EXCELLENT set to get, and if you want more of just shields, or damage, they have those available to add onto your order.

Overall Rating (4.5/5.0)

I would definitely give this set of tokens a shot, they really make the damage stick out, and the “Cargo” tokens add a little extra flare to the game. Like I said above the only issue you might have is certain mats make the damage token NUMBERS hard to see, but that’s because of the way all acrylics are made. I have enjoyed bringing them to the table and people do comment quite a bit when I bring them out over the standard FFG cardboard.

    1. It was a pleasure to do Brian! I was very happy with the product and use it all the time now instead of the normal cardboard. If I ever get my wife to play regularly I’ll be getting another set!!
