Spirit of Rebellion Pre-Release

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend not one, but 3 different Spirit of Rebellion events. FFG was pretty liberal with how the events could be run, but the stores I attended decided to follow the Mission Brief and it was a lot of fun!

Day One

Day 1, I attended two events. One at Black Knight Games in Hamilton, Ontario, and another in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The first event at BKG started at 11 a.m., and we were all given a mission brief to complete. We had a full house, 36 players and a waitlist! Needless to say, it was a successful event.

The purchase of 3 packs was an easy one to complete; who doesn’t want packs of Spirit of Rebellion early?!

There were some seriously good pulls! After the excitement of opening packs was over, it was on to other objectives in the mission brief; time to play some games!

We had two hours to complete our games before the tournament started at 1 p.m.

My 6-year-old niece took a game each against her mother and myself before losing her second. We had a great time and played some fun games.

These casual events are fun for her because there isn’t the time constraint of a normal tournament round, which is almost impossible for her due to taking extra time reading.

We handed in our mission brief as we each brought an extra deck with us and got our three promos.

With our prizes in hand, we made our way to the second event, just as the tournament at BKG was starting.

Day One, Part Two

Our second event was at Max Aggression Gaming in Niagara Falls. It’s a wonderful little store with very fair prices and a good group of people.

We arrived late at this event due to it starting at noon. But we still completed all of our objectives, even though most other people were done by that point.

It was a quick one, as there was only us there playing at that point. But lots of great pulls there. One of the lads got Palpatine and Chewbacca in his 3 packs!

After a great day of gaming, we made our way back home to relax and get a good night sleep for the next day.

Day Two

Day 2 had one event we could attend, it was at X Planet in Toronto, and it was the same as the day before, full house, 36 players, and a mission brief ready to be conquered.

We grabbed our packs and my sister asked me “So what is the card you’re looking for most of all?”

So I say that I really want a Vibroknife, and she laughs and says “You mean this?” While holding up the card.

Best. Day. Ever!

For our matches, I played against my friend John. They were good games, he won one, and I won the second by the skin of my buttcheeks.

One of the other games going on the next table over had this epic roll with the new Lightsaber Pike!

In total, I was able to attend 3 of the 7 events that went on over the weekend in the GTA, and am so thankful to have had that opportunity, as other areas weren’t able to get many events, not to mention the support of my family that is more than willing to play games with me at my hearts whim.
