So What Did You Pull? A Recap of Our Star Wars: Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Pre-Release

What a weekend!!!! The Pre-Release excitement was all over the web and whether you went to one event or twelve there was a lot of new material to take in. I think the best part was seeing so much excitement in the community again. We’ve been anxiously awaiting new cards for what feels like forever, and they’re finally here!

A Global Event…

The Chance Cube Family had representation all across the world at Pre-Release events and were able to share a multitude of different cards for you. If you haven’t got to see them yet, head over to our Facebook page to check them out. A lot of our team was able to visit multiple events in their area and bring home some great cards! Personally, I was able to make it to one local event. Central Ohio did have multiple events occurring though, which is exciting for the community. I do wish that more areas would have had an opportunity to host an event. In all the excitement of the weekend, we need to remember that not everyone had an event close enough to them. I hope that in the future, Fantasy Flight offers more kits to more stores, because there’s nothing worse to kill a vibe then watching everyone else take part in something you can’t.

…and Local As Well

Our local store hosted their event on Saturday and sold out. We were able to get three packs each, as well as the three promo cards. The event was held for the majority of the day so there were a lot of players coming and going. At the time we were there, four of the six legendaries from the box had been opened. We were lucky enough to have two of them in our group. I pulled the Bowcaster (SR48), much to my delight! My husband pulled Slave I (SR22) and was thrilled. He’s looking forward to adding Cheat (SR143) to his eHan/eRey deck. I also pulled FN-2199 (SR2) and am looking forward to building a new deck including him. I’m doing what everyone else is doing with this game….looking forward and planning.

The most exciting thing about this new set of cards is the possibilities that lie ahead. Soon, we’ll see all new decks with new character combinations and we’re seeing characters from different parts of the Star Wars Universe. There’s even more strategy involved in planning a deck and picking the best cards to compliment each other. The best part is, Fantasy Flight is just getting started.

The first few months of this game were not without their challenges. Fantasy Flight addressed these recently at GAMA and we anxiously await to see if the product demands have been met. But for now, I’m going to enjoy the new cards being shared with excitement and optimism.
