We’re taking a look at the Solo set of tokens that Epic Tokens offers. It includes: Resources (8), 3-Damage Tokens (5), 1-Damage Tokens (7), and shields (6). These are enough tokens to replace what you would receive from a Starter Set. Epic Tokens was cool enough to send us a few different shield options so we can share those with all of you.
I’ll admit it; the resource tokens are my favorite part of this set. They took the image from the original resource token and turned it into exactly what you would expect them see. Not to be outdone, though, the damage tokens are also well designed and stand out very well. The shield tokens are different helmets from the Star Wars universe.
Keep in mind these are 3-D printed tokens, not molds, so you do have some of the typical markings on the tokens from 3-D printing. For instance, print lines or rough edges on overhanging bits. Don’t let this deter you, though, as these are still very well made tokens. I noticed this mostly on the shields, but the amount of detail Epic Tokens includes in the pieces more than makes up for it.

I used these tokens at one of my local events and found them to be easier to see on my playmat than the tokens that come with the Starter Set. My resource crates, as I like to call them, were considerably easier to keep track of over the course of a match. Some other individuals thought they were a tad large, but I’m happy with their size. The damage tokens are easy to see on my character cards. At first, I thought the 1-Damage tokens would be a little hard to see but they were great! The shields sat defiantly in front of my character cards, staring down my opponent. I actually like that they are heavy enough to stay in one place instead of sliding around with card movement like the basic tokens do.
Durability (4.5/5.00)
These tokens are solid. Epic Tokens has taken the time to make sure these are well made and they will last a user for quite a long time. There’s no paint to flake off or cardboard that will bend. I’m storing mine snugly when I take them to events to keep them from rattling around. Both the resource crates and shields are one printed piece. The damage tokens are a little thin, but I think if you take care of them, they’ll return the favor.

Epic Tokens offers three different bundles to choose from, and the costs carry a discount for the larger bundles you purchase. The Solo set, which we received, that replaces one Starter Set’s worth of tokens. The Greedo set, which will replace double the amount of Starter Set tokens. And lastly, the Jabba set, which is two Greedo sets with an additional six shields. The Solo set costs $14.00, the Greedo set is $24.00, and Jabba will run you $46.00. Final Thoughts
These tokens really exceeded my expectations. I had been trying to find good set of aftermarket tokens to use, and nothing seemed to fit. Epic Tokens has used some great models from Thingiverse and offer a variety of shield options. This allows for even more customization for your token set. Your helmets can be any of the following: Rebel Pilot, Bossk, Clone, Mandolorian, Leia/Boussh, Royal Guard, Phasma, First Order, Stormtrooper, Scout, Vader, and Kylo.
I recommend checking out their Etsy store, not just for tokens, but also for some of their other 3-D printed items. They’re working on some awesome new stuff!
