Star Wars: Destiny Tabletop Simulator League Match Results (Part 3)

Continuing on, this is Part 3 of my Star Wars: Destiny Tabletop Simulator League.  This is a recounting of my fifth opponent’s games.

My fifth opponent was honeybee from Arizona.  A new(er) player to Tabletop Simulator, she did have a great working knowledge of the game and rules from all her real life playing.  We had a slight issue early on with getting both our microphones to work properly so we could hear each other, but once that was handled, things went smoothly.  Like normal, I had setup the server and had my first deck out and ready to go before my opponent showed up.  That way there I don’t have any “players bias” in choosing a deck to start with that would dominate their chosen deck.

So, I brought out my new favorite power deck, eDarth Vader (AW 10)/Tusken Raider (AW 22).  She brought out her eHan Solo (AW46)/eRey (AW38).  She had some bad draws, never getting either of her Holdout Blasters (AW 63), and only a single DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol (AW 51).  I had the right cards at the right time, and easily won the game without losing a single character.  For this match, I did take out Han first, as I wanted to do something different than the norm of killing Rey first.  While I still love my eJabba the Hutt (AW20)/Jango Fett(AW21) – and am still working on collecting real card to complete my physical deck – after building the Vader/Raider deck for real and playing it both for real and digitally, I am really beginning to understand the power of it.  You can really dish out a ton of damage that your opponent, if they don’t have great counters for, won’t be able to stop.

So, since the worse I could do was tie my opponent (as the league has you play your opponent twice), I decided to bring out my old faithful, eJabba/eJango.  She kept her same deck. Now, for this match, it goes without saying, I knew I had to take out Rey first, which I did do.  She focused on Jango, which is the norm for most any deck, taking him out right before I took out Rey.  I remembered to play a damage upgrade on Jabba early on, so he had a Holdout Blaster from the start, and he did do some damage with it.  I did get plenty of upgrades on the table, including the dreaded Crime Lord (AW 23).  She did much better drawing cards, having both Holdout Blasters in the first two turns of the game, and even playing a One with The Force (AW 42).  If I could have been able to prevent one single point of damage, I could have used a Focus to turn Crime Lord to the Special and use it to kill Han.  Ah, well, woulda, shoulda, coulda….  It was a great couple of games, and I hope she does well in her remaining matches.

League Record 2-1-2
