Card Dissection: AT-ST (AW5)

It has been a while since a new card was revealed to us, but thanks to Tiny Grimes over at his YouTube channel, we have a new card for us to look at! This high powered, Red Villain Support card is a sight to behold.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time diving into this card at this time, but I do want to mention that this is the first time we have seen a card able to remove supports from the game. I have been expecting that the ability to remove supports was going to show up sooner than later, and I don’t think we have seen the last of it.  However, this card is also high in cost.  With a resource cost of six, it is going to take a while to get this one out.  This card needs a good amount of resource generation behind it to get it out on the field, but once its out, you’ve got a die that has no blank side, three sides that do quite a bit of damage, one side generating shields, and two sides with the special, giving you a good chance of being able to remove a support, and with it, a die or an effect that a deck may hinge on.

Will you play with this card?  What are your thoughts on it?  Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I would want to play this card in a Finn (elite)/ Poe deck, where I can play Hit and Run, activate Poe and hopefully roll the special, then discard the AT-ST to deal massive damage all in one uninterrupted turn. Then, retrieve the AT-ST again with the Starship Graveyard battlefield. Cards like Datapad, thermal detonator, All in, would have a nice place in this combo. The 6 resource cost is very steep, and I think you can get best value by using it in this way versus actually playing it to the field.

      1. Yes, but remember that Finn’s text allows you to include Red Villian Support Vehicles in your hero deck. An awesome ability which will only get better over time.
